Hello everyone, This fall I rescued a mother (Spot) and her little boy (Beeba). They were ferral cats but they were coming along real well. Well, two days ago, spot developed Chyle (pronounced Kile) and had to be euthanized. Not only are we heartbroken, but Beeba is acting strange. He is off his food, calls for her in the night, and spends most of the day hiding in his linen closet. He is probably 60% tamed. I can rub his belly first thing in the morning and he and Spot usually would spend the evenings with my husband and I in the living room. Spot was more tame than him. I hear him crying for her in the night and I don't have the heart to let it go on, so I get up and let him out of the spare bedroom and keep him company for the rest of the night in the living room playing with string etc. We kept them in the spare room only overnight, otherwise they have the run of the house. I know he is suffering the loss too, they were so close. Any ideas on what I can do to help my little guy? One thing we are going to do is let him stay out at night. That might keep him occupied looking out all the windows and exploring the house. Thanks for any info you might have. Shannon C. Beeba's Mom
