Hello,

Has anyone here used Banfield Wellness plan for their cat? They offer annual visits, vaccines, dental cleaning, etc for aboutt $35 per cat but you'd have to use their facility. Any advice? My mom uses it for her dogs and likes it but wanted a little more insight. Thanks!

*Attached is a picture of their different types of plans. I am interested in the active prevention plan for my cats

I personally like to build a relationship and know my vet. Which is funny because I don't care about my own doctor but am super picky about my vet. That said, if the $35 is a monthly fee and includes dental and vaccines it would be worth it. You would more than cover the cost of your monthly fees if you utilized the benefits fully; assuming there aren't weird exclusions and specific requirements. It also assumes your cat needs annual dental cleanings (I have one who will likely and one who won't) to be worth it. If you just use it for the annual exam and vaccine then it is overpriced since I can do those two for about $175 a year for my two. It sounds like a more comprehensive insurance plan for pets.

I would be hesitant to make them my primary vet and would want to still see specialists for some things. It would also depend on the quality of the vet at your local location. For me, familiarity with cats specifically is a huge issue after some past experiences. But for just annual exam, vaccines and cleanings it could be worth it.

I actually spoke with them today and they seemed pretty interested for basic care. I'd definitely find certain specialists for bigger issues but for now my cats are pretty healthy so I might sign up a couple then add more if I like them
