Hi, try storebought chamomile tea, (garden grown is unsafe for cats). Brew it, cool it and dab it on the area. The tea is anti bacterial, anti fungal, will ease any discomfort and is safe if she ingests it.

You might try Only Natural Pet next time for a flea treatment, that doesn't require a prescription. Since your vet prescribed this, what did they say?

:yeah: The chamomile tea should help. And, then try another topical flea treatment next time. They are all different and others may not cause the same issue.

It is so hard to tell, because it could one of the active ingredients, which vary by flea product, or it could be one of the inactive ingredients which are not required to be listed by the manufacturers.
