As I've posted on the Daily thread before, I have been waiting to hear news of a promotion I had applied for at work, and have been working VERY hard for the past year to get. It is a highly sought after position and the competition is CRAZY.
This was my 3rd time interviewing for it.
The interview THIS time was 6 weeks ago tomorrow. I have been waiting and waiting to hear something, ANYTHING about how I did. Well aparently HR went back and forth on how many they were allowing the manager to hire, so the process went on longer than expected.
Today I got an email, the generic one everyone unsuccessful gets, basically saying "Thanks but no thanks."
That is the bad news.
The good news is that as soon as I got the email, the hiring manager sends me an IM asking me if I had time to meet with him. Of course I did! So...he tells me that he wanted me to know that 16 people had been interviewed for 2 positions, and he had to go with 2 other people with more tenure, however, with that being said he WANTS me on his team, I am next in line, I interviewed VERY well and that basically he is just waiting for the paperwork which will go through within the next 2 months and then he will be offering me the position! He didn't want me to get discouraged by the email, and that I WILL get the position, he just couldn't make it official yet!
I am so, SO excited guys! This is a really big step for me, and I have worked so hard for it.
