Has anyone had their cats medication get backordered and what did you/your vet do?
I called my vet 2 weeks ago to order Atopica because I was almost out (they have to order it, its not something that's already there). They said it would be there in a few days but everytime I asked they just kept saying it wasn't in yet...I called again yesterday, and the person on the phone (who didn't seem to remember she had been the one I talked to to order them) checked the prepared med baskets and said it hadn't come in, so they'd ask the person who orders meds. She called back and said it turns out the size I usually get is backordered and they asked if I wanted a smaller size. It would've been nice to know that a week or two ago, so I could get the smaller size before I ran out... The small one is only 5 map though and I have 3 cats on it, so it is probably going to be more expensive and I'll have to get several small bottles (Atopica is already very expensive).
Also since I had to wait so long I've been out of it for a while and Mr Grey's EGC/allergies are flaring up really badly (swollen paws, lick granulomas, red lips). He'll probably have to go in and end up getting another steroid shot again, which I've been trying to avoid because I know it's not good to keep doing them but my vet keeps giving them when my cats have a flare up.
