I'm trying to upload a different avatar, but I keep getting the message:

You may not upload animated images.

I've uploaded animated avatars before, in fact the one I'm trying to upload I've had on before!!

It's the new vB...

It sets it default so members can not use animated avatars unless they are Staff.

You need to have 700 posts and have been a member for 120 days. This info can be found here.

It appears so. Which kind of sucks 'cause I have lots of animated ones I'd love to use, but don't want to keep bugging the mods to change it for me.

I'll need to ask Thomas to double check on that info. Until then, I have no issue at all posting an animated avatar for you. Don't worry about it.
