I adopted my cat last December, at which time, she had a rabies vaccine. .I thought she had a distemper too but according to her chart, she did not. However, when she was brought from the shelter, the vet realized that she'd already been spayed. If that's the case, then she must have had, at least, a rabies vaccine, if not a distemper too, prior to coming to the shelter, which means that she had two sets of rabies shots and possibly a distemper before getting another rabies before I brought her home. She was estimated to be about a year old at the time, so that's two sets of vaccines in one year.
I am concerned that she had two rabies shots last year. If that's the case, should she need another so soon? Can I refuse a rabies shot at this time?
She has a chronic condition, which has not been definitively confirmed as FHV, so I don't want to compromise her immune system. I also don't want to be bullied into doing something that I don't feel is right for my cat.
