Well, the new kitten came back positive for Tritrichomonas blagburni. He is not symptomatic and has solid stool. I tested him because I have other cats at home and he was imported from Russia, where it seems to be a common issue. He tested negative in Russia (supposedly) and came back positive here on his fecal PCR after I double checked. Glad I did! Kitten has been isolated since he arrived, so there's been no exposure to the other kitties in the home.

I'm wondering if anyone has treated a non-symptomatic kitten with the recommended Ronidazole protocol with success? He can't be with my other kitties in the home if he's positive, so I either treat him and retest the PCR after treatment in hopes of a negative result or I return him (which I don't want to do).

Has anyone else been in this boat before? NOT asking for veterinary advice or alternative treatments. Just looking to see if anyone has been through this before with a young, non-symptomatic kitten. Thanks!
