I developed allergies when I got older. About 6 years or so ago I went to get tested for allergies, and I tested positive for the 40 things they tested. Great.
Mowing the lawn is a nightmare. This season is a nightmare. I'm continually stuffed up, constantly coughing because of the post-nasal drip....
We got rid of the down pillows, the down comforter, we use the unscented "allergy" detergent, and I worked to find shampoo and soap and stuff that doesn't bother me in the shower &etc.
But this time of year, if I've been outside for a couple of hours or more, it's like the shower ACTIVATES whatever causes the allergic reactions. My thinking is it's supposed to wash OFF all the stuff bothering me - and I have hives, but they're not itching. But when I get out of the shower, I itch like I'm covered in poison ivy or something. I have to dry off and just sit somewhere for like 15 - 20 minutes while my body is on FIRE ITCHING. I've even tried not using any soap, and just rinsing off. Doesn't matter what I do.
It is the most insane feeling that drives me completely nuts.
I long for the days when I felt better after a shower, because this sucks!
