Hi Keith,

I fully understand your frustration. How old are you by the way? How incredible that someone of your age is so compassionate towards these animals!

If I were you, I'd type up one standard letter/email explaining the situation and send it out to a number of animal welfare groups...set out the help you need and what you are willing/able to do yourself (eg trapping, continuing to feed til homes are found etc). I'd also start taking pics and advertising the kitties for rehoming asap...there should be a website for cat adoptions in your local area that you can post to??? Put posters up in vet & pet stores. Call or fax as many vets as you can with pics of the kitties asking if they can post them, also ask if the clinic or any of their staff can take any of them on. You may find that a vet clinic might be happy to rehome at least the youngsters for you....I had a vet nurse take an adult feral from me once.

Also, soon I will be in a position to put other people's kitties on my site for rehoming. I am getting stray/feral animal lovers from all over the world on my site and you might get some help there.

Good on ya mate! From an Aussie!

Naomi

Prettyboy...how wonderful of you to offer to assist Keith with his strays. Hopefully with your assistance...the stray mom will not have anymore kittens.

katie if i am able to help keith i will be honored. from what i am reading
this young man has been trying to take care of this situation since last
year and i commend him for continuing to try.

katie thank you for leading me here. i don't come here much anymore
and i never would have seen keiths post. so thank you !!

keith.... i am pretty determined to help you. so i need you to stay focus
and believe that this time your wishes to get these cats fixed will come true
unless something unforseen happens.

While you are emailing all the rescues asking for financial help I will
speak to the local vet by us to see what if anything he is able to help
with. I will explain to him what is going on. But I need you to stay on
top of the emailing to all the rescues to plead for financial help in getting
them fixed.

From you I need to know the following.....

1 - How many cats and kittens are there that you see regularly by your house ?

2 - Do they all look healthy ?

3 - Do they all look to be a good weight or are they looking sickly ?

4 - Will you be able to continue to feed them if they are fixed and then
returned to your property ?

5 - Is this your parents property that you all live on or are you renters like me ?

This will give me a better idea of how to approch things.

Chin up !!! I think you will get this done this time !!

***** UPDATE *****

so keith and i have been pming each other and today my friend
and i made arrangements with keith and his mom to stop by
during the day.

WOW two nicer people you will never meet !!!! keith and his mom
were sooo sweet to us !!!

one of the cats we all agreed must have been somebodys house cat.
it is extremely friendly !!! in fact, my cats are no where near that
friendly LOL !!!! we think he is a fixed male cat and once tested he
is adoptable asap.

the other kittys are very friendly to keith and his mom which is a great start !!
that means they are socialized but just need a little bit more work.
what beautiful kittys they all are !!!

i have contacted a vet who has given some decent prices to get them
fixed, vaccinated and wormed and has given me a name to a person
who i think is with a rescue and she might be able to do all the work
as far as picking them up all at once or trapping them all at once and
housing them before and after the surgery. i still have to call her and
talk to her to see if she will be able to keep any to adopt out or if she
can possible cover some of the costs or whatever and get the details
from her.

once we work that out we are on our way !!!

i totally would love to get that one cat tested and adopted asap !!!
what a friendly cat !!!

so cheers to keith and his mom !!! they are on their way to having these
kittys fixed and i hope soon after that adopted !!! YAY !!!

PB...I am sooooo glad that you were able to go out and see the cats in person. Now the cats will get the medical attention they deserve....cheers to you!!

Both my paws are crossed that you can work something out with the rescue person.

Cheers to both of you for finding a way to help the cats/kittens!!!
Keith, you are a wonderful young man to do all of this on your own for so long.
PB, you also have done a wonderful thing by helping.

That's a good start....I would definately shoot to have them fixed before the spring. Is PB still working with you?

thank you for the compliment keith.

well if all goes well with these two, we are hoping to do the other 3
next week, if keith can catch them.

as you can tell from the begining date to today, it was way way more
time consuming and harder to get to this point than it was to actually
transport them to the person who is bringing them in to be fixed.

it ended up not being free but the lady doing this is charging me nothing
in comparision to what everyone else is. so thats a blessing. we were lucky.

as you all know its not easy to find help and work out the details but
once that is done it can be smooth sailing.

i am praying with all my heart that everything goes as planned today
and that keith is as successful next week catching the remainder as
he was this week catching the two.

keith did an awesome job in both catching them and socializing them.

after they are fixed i told keith i would do my best in helping him get them
adopted out.

there is one really really friendly cat that we think is a dumped cat.
i can pick him up at will. he is so friendly and so beautiful. as soon as
i get a chance i want to take him to my local vet and get him checked out.
hopefully he will get a clean bill of health and then we can proceed with
attempting to adopt him out. i will put notices up at my local vets office.

keith what is that cats name ?

btw..... if i don't update i will leave that up to keith. at the moment the
server is down where i live so no computer at home. YUK !!

Keith and PrettyBoy - congrats!!!!!!!!! It can be difficult to co-ordinate these things - but once things get working, it's always wonderful to see the results.

Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
