Any tricks/tips to get a cat more affectionate/snuggly?

It's funny the way the behaviour changes depending on who's around.  My two love a snuggle, but if one is on the bed the other won't come near, or will park themselves way down in a corner.  They are both very human orientated and really don't care for other cats.

At least Monet is incredibly handsome... you can just sit and admire him!
Oh I admire him every day! lol. Though one thing I've noticed that I forgot to mention, is that he purrs more often now. He used to never purr. that alone makes me happy!

I have to agree with the 2-3 year lack of affection. All of my cats were friendly until they turned one, then they became more independent. After almost three years they suddenly seem to get friendlier, especially if you play with them a lot.
