Any ideas....

My cat Sky has been losing some fur, and where it's gone he has little red sores, any ideas as to what this might be?

My mom said it's from fleas, and that she's going to get the flea meds. soon, and that we're going to treat the house and yard. It just seems odd to me that he would be losing fur over some fleas.

well, it could be fleas... be careful treating house/yard - you don't want him to ingest anything.
are you using Frontline or Advantage on him?
my Pixel gets little sores around her face when she has a herpes flare up. where are his sores?

Cocogets that way if she even gets one flea.

I'm not sure, but I think we use advantage.

The majority of the sores are on his neck, but there are some on his rump right in front of his tail, and then there are a couple on his back. He's always had a problom with sores but this outbreak is a lot worse than any of the others he's ever had.

For a few months he weight went up and down, we assumed it was because his catfood was chaged three times. But now his weigt is just fine, I don't know if that would have anything to do with the sores, I doubt it but thought I'd tell you.
