We drink a combination of everything - the tap water here doesn't have fluoride in it (thank goodness) so we drink that and use it for cooking. We have a Brita pitcher in the fridge for cold water, and also chilled water bottles that we grab when going out for a while. (A small bottle of water bought downtown is $3.)
My main concerns are plastics and fluoride - I'm not thrilled that the water is stored in plastic in the bottles and the Brita filter. We have stainless steel water bottles but I hesitate to use them much since they are washed and clean, but not sterile, we don't have a dishwasher and wash everything by hand. I also like to not have to drag the steel water bottle all over town when I'm running errands on foot and it's empty.
Our kitties get tap water in their fountain that has a charcoal filter. I clean it every day (almost).
