Anxiously awaiting approval

I turned in an application on Monday to adopt wo adult cats from a nearby shelter. Several of their adults are long term residents that have been there for 3 or more years. One girl I am looking at has been there since she came in as a kitten in 2005. The shelter is only open limited hours, so I don't know if they have even started on my app yet. I feel so sorry for these kittes and I Sasha is such an outgoing little thing and so playful that I think she would enjoy having other kitties living with her.

Good luck! I know how it is to wait. I just got approved to adopt a baby from a shelter and now I have to wait even longer to get him... another week. Chances are they'll be happy to adopt to you since they are older cats.

Remember - be patient (I know - it's hard). Often times it takes time to get through applications, especially if they have several at once. And sometimes the long-term residents in shelter often require extra special homes.

I know. I am doing my best to be patient. Its something I have put a lot of thought into before making the decision so if I have to wait a bit longer I have to wait. Of course having made the decision, I would love to be able to run right over there and bring them home. But I can't so I am trying to be patient.

Right now Pretty Girl, Aretha,Tigger, and May are in the top running. But I have to meet them before I can make a decision on which two. All I know is that it won't be easy.

What are your integration arrangements? I know you said you think Sasha will enjoy the company, but keep in mind that cats almost never instantly like eachother. It takes time for them all to get used to each other.

But of course....we're here to help with that.

I'd get some feliway plug ins right off!
