I've posted before about Nugent and his struvite crystals.
He is back on antibiotics because he still has crystals and another UTI. The vet said don't give anymore Wysong Uretic and stick with the low/ph. He also said Nugent should lose 5 lbs. I find him staying on the low/ph dry and losing weight to be a bit of an oxymoron because the low/ph food is more fattening.
I really do want to be compliant, but this has me a little off balance about what is best. I do have some of the wet low/ph, but I know he gets sick of the same thing all the time.
I am in the process of eliminating all the dry and going to wet only. Isn't most wet food low phosphorus? If so I shouldn't have to be so concerned about giving him wet that isn't specifically the low/ph then I would think. Would it be best if I get him a senior type wet food for variety?
Opinions and suggestions about this would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any knowledgeable input on this subject.
