Hello, I'm new here also. Am new mother to a kitty who came around our side porch meowing up a storm on Oct. 4. He's a Domestic Medium-hair, orange and white. When he first came to us, he was very, very thin. Took him to the vet, who treated him for intestinal parasites and a possible intestinal infection. We couldn't find a previous owner. Also at first, we weren't going to keep him, as I live with my dad and, due to some personal losses, etc. in the past couple of years, he did not want another pet around. To make a long story short, after trying to find a home for the kittyplus getting him neutered and routine vaccinations, etc. Dad relented. So now Opie is our new family member. The vet estimates he's around a year old. I dearly love animals and would love to work with them regularly sometime(although I do enjoy my present occupation as caregiver to the elderly). I wish I had had all my ducks in a row, so to speak, when I was much younger so I could have started back then. However, you can't rehash the past; it's over, so I just go on from here, one day at a time. As they say, You're only as old as you feel....and never too old to start something new!
Opie is quite a character...very outspoken, loves to play, and very loving in his special way.
