I didn't want to hijack the other current threads about hair and grooming so I'm starting this one.
Dorothy is HAIRY. OK, so is Genever. But before we got Dot 3 months ago, I forgot that cats shed. Sure, G sheds a bit, but apparently not that much at all, because our house wasn't very hairy at all until Miss Polka Dot came home.
You pet her, hand gets a bunch of hair. She rubs on you, hair. She lays on anything, hair. That's fine, I can deal with hair. We have brooms and dust mops and lint brushes.
However, to help the excessive hair issue, you might tell me I should be brushing her regularly. Well..... this is my question I guess. She doesn't like getting brushed. She wriggles away from the metal wire brush, the comb, the soft boar bristle brush, and the regular hair brush (that I don't use) with plastic 'bristles' with round ends. She is a loveable snuggly purr machine. But when she doesn't like something, she turns into a fighter!!
So what is the best way to just hold her down and get it done?
