Anal Sac Removal

Hi fellow cat lovers. My 10 year old female cat has been having anal gland issues for the past few months. She seems to have a recurring abscessed left anal gland. The last time I was at the vets office, they mentioned the idea of removing that problem gland. I've read on the internet that can cause fecal incontinence. My vet said that would be highly unlikely just removing one of them. Has anybody else had this done before? What were the results? Also, I live in the DFW area. If you've had good results and also live in the DFW area, can you share with me who did the surgery? Thanks in advance.

From what I can find, most cats who have incontinence issues after anal sac surgery did have BOTH glands removed, so I'd trust what your vet has told you. And even if there are issues afterward, there are lots of pet diapers available for cats, and she wouldn't be going through repeated infections, which are rough on the system! Let me know how she does!
