Hello everyone,
I posted on the forum about an issue I am having with my problem child Jasper.
Jasper is 5. I have had him for just about 4 years now. He was found on the street by my son. He has always been a bit on the hyper side and was always an indoor/outdoor kitty. I tried keeping him in on several occasions but he just wouldn't stand for it. After a bad injury 6 weeks ago (a cat fight) I decided that I couldn't let him out every again. We came close to losing him this last time. He's not happy about this change at all. He's been spraying all over the house for the past 5 weeks. I'm up to my eyeballs in kitty pee. Ick.
Our other kitty is Tess. I got her from the shelter the end of last summer. She is about 2 and she is the sweetest cat I've ever seen. We introduced Tess and Jasper over a period of 2 weeks. They get along just as siblings. Sometimes they get into it but for the most part they get along fine.
Between these two kitties (with one of them spraying) I am pretty busy. Never believe anyone when they say that cat's take care of themselves. They absolutely do not.
That's about it. For now anyway. I got no responses to my post about Prozac (which Jasper has been on for the past 3 weeks). I suppose no one has experienced it. I'm not giving up on it just yet. I'm going to give it more time. I sure wish this would have happened in the winter. I think it would be much easier on everyone. We have built a very nice and good size enclosure for these guys. They do go out there but Jasper still wants out. He's just not a happy camper right now.
