Congratulations to Tom and Jerry on finding a forever home. This story made me so happy when I read it, I agree with you unfortunately kittens and cats that are not that out going in a shelter find it more difficult to find homes it is unfair but its true. Tom and Jerry are so lucky and it is a miracle that they were able to find a forever home , they deserve that. They look so sweet and they are gorgeous cats.  I think that it is  great that you cared enough about Tom and Jerry  to foster them and tried  to do everything you could for these 2 lovely cats and I am so happy to hear that they are slowly adjusting so well to life in their new home.

Oh poor Jerry, I hope that he gets well soon. I can understand how Jerry's new mom  can feel incredibly bad and guilty, because if that had happened to me I would be blaming myself too, however she did the right thing and she got him the help that he needed right away and she is taking care of him while he recovers, she is being an EXCELLENT kitty parent.

Oh my! Poor Jerry. But you did the right thing in finding them a loving and caring furr-ever home, and their new mom did a good job in being proactive and getting all of his wounds treated.
 for Jerry.

I am, of course, partial to Bowie - but that Pierrot - holy moley what a face!!!!!

He's very photogenic, isn't he? He was adopted within 48 hours of me uploading his picture on the cat re-homing site I use. That's the fastest I've ever managed to re-home a kitten.

A slightly sad update - Jerry was startled by the sweeper and jumped up WHILE the mom was cooking on the stove! They rushed him to the kitty ER, where he spent a night in the kitty ER and came home with bandages to one leg, completely singed-off whiskers...and a tale none of his cat buddies will believe! The new mom is horrified and devastation, but  told her accidents happen - and the real proof is in what she did....rush him in immediately, get it taken care of and monitor it closely! She's so worried I'll think they deserve to be taken from her!!! I told her it's the opposite - she TOOK CARE OF HIM - and it was a totally unforeseen accident and they rushed to do all the could to make it right. I told her I wished my mom (in real life) were that conscientious about things!

But had to include a pic of poor Tom.
Oh, poor boy! But accidents do happen and his new Mum did the right thing by taking him to the vet straight away.

Hope he gets better soon.

wow...sorry to hear this

my 2 cents here is the voice of (bad) experience

he is now going to be even MORE afraid of the sweeper and other such random sounds...if anyone knows a way to train cats NOT to be afraid of such things while they're young it could help prevent other such incidents in the future for those who are predisposed to being so "skittish"

So excited-we get to go see Tom & Jerry in a few days! I'll post about how they're doing (I feel like I can predict that they'll be great!). Hope they remember us (I know from experience not all fosters do).

And-believe it or not-I'll need to start a new thread-we have an unexpected new foster already! My husband & I had sworn we were taking a break after Tom & Jerry....but I got a call & Olaf needed us. Luckily he's already pre-adopted so no worrying about him having to go back to a cage!!!! He's got quite the story -so I'll post it in a new thread tomorrow! Poor sweetie was born without upper eyelids-& he had the surgery at a specialist last week but no one wanted to take him on as a foster due to the med ritual & that he "looks like Frankenstein now." So we took him in. Anyway-here's a "before" (sorry it's a screen capture & has my phone stuff on it) I'll get a picture of him tomorrow (I still think he's adorable in a wacky way. He's such a sweetie it's hard not to love him! So watch for a new thread on Olaf....and I'll update in this thread on how our visit to Tom & Jerry's "furrever" home!!!

Went to see Tom & Jerry in their new home tonight. I'll post pics this week. They couldn't be happier or have found a more loving home. Both "parent" truly live the still-slightly skittish babies for who they are!!!!! They don't push them to leave their master bedroom, & said "they'll come out when they want, & if they never want to, that's ok" they bought 3 cat trees for them--/one is enormous & the boys love it. Both Tom & Jerry seemed to remember me (us)....although suddenly Tom looked up in the middle of me holding him like "hey-I'm supposed to be scared!" & ran under the bed. Jerry, the one who'd been VERY skittish at our place, let me pet, scratch under the chin, etc.

It was the perfect ending to their story!!

AWWWW Tom remembered you, hun, too. He is just in shock of his new digs and having you there surged emotion in him. Wonderful that Jerry accepted some loving and HOPE that his little paws are all healed up. :cross:

I couldn't be more happy to hear about their new adoptive parents being so kind, understanding and loving to Tom and Jerry. I am SURE that with this no pressure attitude they will have two very loving little boys, adventurous boys, very soon. Truly, a perfect ending to their rescue and a new beginning to a well deserved loving life. :high5:

Thanks Feralvr - that made my day. And with all of the stress surrounding our 19-year-old cat that's refused to eat this week (we're trying to determine why), I needed a happy thought.

:alright: Very sorry to hear about your 19 yr. old kitty. SOOOOO very difficult when our babies are so elderly. It is so hard to know what may be coming - it is inevitable and unavoidable. I hope that you can get an answer and some more precious time with your kitty. :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Happy thoughts are always there amongst the sad ones - I always try to find the good in the bad but not easy sometimes. Hang in there, hun. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
