Hi, I'm new to this forum and I have a question regarding one of my cats who was recently diagnosed with renal failure. I'm feeding her K/D dry food like the vet suggested and I just recently started giving her Pedialyte to prevent dehydration. She is a young cat and seems to be doing well despite loose stools and diarrhea. My question is this: what can I feed her other than K/D that won't cause additional stress on her kidneys?
I've been doing research on cat foods in general and I'm not impressed with the ingredients in K/D at all. I've read suggestions about mixing baby food with mixed vegetables. If so, how I would I prepare that? I've also heard about a supplement called Renafood that is supposed to very good for kidney patients. Any and all advice would be much appreciated.
