A good, healthy black cat is a thing of beauty. Usually they have golden eyes, very striking.
Also, most black cats have an "angel's touch." This is a small spot of white hairs. At one time, it was believed that only a purely black cat could be a witch's familiar, so angels would come down and touch the black kittens, giving them a few white hairs to spoil their usefulness to the devil. Actually, most small white hairs are due to an injury to the skin some time in the past.

The term "domestic" - whether short, medium, or long hair - is used for kitties who don't have official pedigrees. That includes most kitties and we couldn't love them any less.
