Hi guys! Im super new... this is my first post. I'd like to share my experience with y'all and maybe get some positive feed back on some things.
Long story short: I adopted two 3 year old cats. After a few weeks of having them I started to realize Heidi is acting funny. Shes loosing weight, throwing up, has runny stool, around her eyes they were red & she was scratching her self to the point she was bleeding & had scabs EVERYWHERE. I went and got her a special shampoo & gave her a bath to try and help with the scabs & some childrens benadryl to help her stop scratching her face apart. I did some googleing & read that Meow Mix has brewers yeast in it and it can be bad for cats, (please spare me the riticule, I should have done my homework, I feel guilty enough) So I switched her to 9Lives. They each get a half a can of Friskies wet food a piece in the mornings & at dinner time & I leave a bowl of dry food out for them during the day for them to free feed. Heidi got a little better, she stopped scratching her eyes & some of her fur was growing back, but the 9Lives didn't depleat as much as I thought it should be, & I felt like Heidi stayed starving. Well, 2 weeks go by with her on 9Lives and she stated to sleep 95% of the day, her stool was still runny & she still had scabs, even tho she stopped scratching as much. Yesterday I went to the store & bought Purina Kitten Ka Bootle (or how ever you spell it) & just over the course of a day there is a COMPLETE difference in her behaviour. Her eyes arent red, she dont act like shes starving, she wants to be loved on again... My question is, is anyone else cat allergic to these foods as well? Can I have some tips on how to get the scabs to go away on Heidi?
ALSO: Her brother, Kato, I believe hes blind... His wiskers point forward & he dont follow a lazer pointer and walks into things... Between the two of them I got just what I wanted... Something to give me something to do during the day since my babies arent babies anymore.
