Oh you can get Bengals for less money - but keep in mind that there are a lot of backyard breeders of Bengals and they don't care about temperment. If you want a good Bengal (even for a pet) its best to go to an ethical breeder who tests their cats, socializes them, and breeds the best to the best.

Otherwise you get a "cheap" Bengal with problems!

I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the number of Bengals at the show. They seem to be the newest thing to have and there are more Bengals now than any other cat at the shows.

And, don't forget that prices in Canada are often very different than in the US. My friend paid $700 about 7 years ago for a pet quality Ragdoll from a reputable breeder here in Canada.
