I have four cats - one male, three females. Our youngest cat, about three years old, at about two began suddenly attacking one of our other female cats relentlessly every time she was able to corner her. We have tried seperating them, resocializing them, giving the aggressive cat various medications such as prozac and st. john's wort, and trying out a spray that has some form of synthetic hormone in it.
None of these have worked. Recently, the aggressor put her favorite victim in the vet's for severe bite and claw wounds. The victim in question is a shy, reclusive cat, and has been even more shy of coming out of hiding since these attacks began over a year ago. We have tried everything, including the ones that supposedly take months to work.
We're at our wit's end. Would we be best off finding our aggressive female a new home?
Also - all four cats are spayed/neutered, and the aggressor doesn't bother the other two cats.
