Our momma cat had 4 beautiful babies on march 1st. All were born at healthy weights and we continued to weigh them twice daily. We quickly noticed the youngest kitten (born the second heaviest) was not gaining weight. We began syringe feeding her every 2 hours and making sure their room was warm, and still trying to get her to drink from mom. We would even move the large healthy babies to the side to make room for our little baby. She was putting on weight very slowly and was getting lethargic. We brought her to the vet yesterday and they said everything was okay, when it clearly was not. Today she was extremely weak and would not accept any milk for the syringe or from mom and she slowly passed while her mom cuddled her close. I am extremely sad and could use some words of encouragement. Thank you.
