One of my ferals, Patches disappeared last year the beginning of April. He had been with me for almost a year at that time. He was here one day and gone the next. I was so very very sad. I posted flyers around the neighborhood, at pet stores, vets and pet stores. I did receive a few calls, but each time it was disappointment. After he had been gone for 2 months, I started to lose hope. I was sure he had been hit by a car or eaten by a coyote. It was summer time and each evening I would sit on my deck and think about him. I had purchased an outdoor plaque that simply said "HOPE". Each night as I sat outside, I would think that there is always HOPE. Then one day in late August after he had been gone over 4 months, he appeared out of no where. He came onto the deck, sniffed around, ate a bit and meowed to say Hi. He was a bit skinny, but seemed in good shape. Who knows where he had been. Yet, he is home. There is always HOPE.
