The feral female in my neighborhood gave birth 6 weeks ago to kittens. I have the kittens in my garage for the past week, treating them and taming them, and finding them homes. I want to trap and spay the mother cat, which shouldn't be hard because she is hanging around my garage, knowing that they are in there.
Does anyone have any advice for doing this rather quickly? None of the shelters around me have any cages to rent and I nobody I know has any I can borrow. I am already going to spend about $130 to spay/vaccinate her, so I really can't afford the expense of a giant cage at Petsmart.
I have a small cat carrier, but I'm not sure how to get her in there. She is outside the garage crying because she knows I have the kittens. It's very sad, so the sooner I can trap her and have her spayed, the better.
Any advice is appreciated.
