I've noticed a number of threads on this forum where the process of changing a cat's food from one to the other requires a weaning period. I want to know why this is, and how to do it.
My 7-year-old cat, Prince, has mostly lived on PC brand dry cat food, and is currently eating Kirkland brand dry cat food.
I have purchased Acana Pacifica dry food and was wondering if I should have a weaning period to switch his diet, and I wanted to know if there's any specific way to do it. I plan on feeding him wet food as well, which he has never really been exposed to.
Thanks!
