Hi
I`m new to this site and in desperate need of some advice.
My husband and I took in a 17 year old cat in Jan last year as her owner had died and no one else would take her. She is adorable and we love her to bits.
I had to take her to the vets this morning as she hasn`t bee nwell for a couple of days, she was being sick and just wasn`t herself. He said he could feel a growth in her abdomin and it said that it didn`t feel very nice and gave us 3 options.
1) We could have her put to sleep
2)We could put her on steriods to make her more comfortable but it wouldn`t cure thingss.
3) He could operate and see what the growth is and if its untreatable he would put her to sleep, whilststill under.
We have ruled out no. 1 as we don`t just want to have her put to sleep without knowing whether it could be removed etc.
We have also ruled out no.2 because we are worried about her quality of life.
So we are going for no.3 and the operation is being done tomorrow at 10.30am
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything siimilar and had a positive outcome, as we are hoping that its just a growth that can be removed, but we don`t want to get our hopes up.
She seems fine in herself now but she has had a steriod injection today so we are thinking thats why she has perked up.
Any advice/ info would be appreciated.
Thanks.
