I dont really know where to put this, so please move it if it's not OK.
My sister lives out in the country and has taken in alot of stray cats that show up at her house over the years. She has a very nice insulated outdoor cat house for them and food and water 24/7. She has to keep them outside because her husband is very allergic to cats. At night she has to pen up the little ones until they are 4-5 months old, because some wild animal always kills them until they are a certain size. She and her husband have sat many nights on top of their roof waiting for this wild animal to show up, but they've never seen it. She found 5 little kittens around 5-6 weeks old down the road in an abandoned barn while she was out for a walk. They were starving and need vet care, so she took them home with her. They were doing great except the older kittens hated them and she couldnt pen them up together at night. She had a large heavy duty pet taxi(I know this because it was mine) that she put the babies in at night and it was chained to the deck railing. The other morning at 6am she was preparing their food and she looked out her kitchen window and saw the pet taxi laying in the bean feild about 50 feet away. She ran out and found the chain had been broken, and the pet taxi had a small hole about the size of a quarter in the back corner of it but no blood or hair near the hole. She then realized all five kittens had been pulled out through the front wolven wire pet taxi door, which was still closed. She was finding pieces of them all over her yard. Does anyone know of an animal strong enough to break the chain, and clever enough to do this type of thing. And how could it get a hold of the kittens through the front door wires(evidence was clearly on the wires) and pull them out '1 inch by 1 inch' wire squares? And why is it just killing the kittens and not the bigger cats? We are all stumped over what it could be!
