I was on the phone with my daughter and I noticed Beeba was really "eying" something in the kitchen. Oh man, if it is a spider I will freak out. Well, no need to worry, it was a garter snake!!
We live on a rocky ravine and in the spring there are snakes around the house. Not millions, just here and there. No prob. Live and let live is my philosophy. They usually disappear in a week or two out into the fields or where ever they go.
I quick hung up and tried to pick him up because he was headed for the fridge and if he got under there, that would be it. Finally threw a throw rug over him. I guess that is why they are called "throw rugs." For snake catching!
I flung the whole thing outside.
I do know how it happened. I had an open bag of bird seed on the porch that we brought in last night because of raccoons. It must have been in the bag! He was only 2 feet from the bag when I saw him.
Good thing DH was at work. Snakes creep him out. Spiders creep me out. It works well. I wrangle snakes....he wrangles spiders!
