Yesterday I picked out a kitty from the shelter. She is being spayed today, and I will bring her home in a few hours. I can't wait! She is a calico or maybe a torbie, I'm not for sure, but her coloring is LOUD! I'll post a picture when she gets home. The shelter was overrun with calico/torties. They were all beautiful.

Congratulations! Have you chosen a name for her? We're looking forward to pictures and hearing about her adjustment to her new home and her antics.

My kids have decided to call her Eve, because she came into the shelter on Christmas Eve, and she is coming home on New Years Eve. We are all standing around the clock, counting down until we leave to pick her up. 2 hours left in our New years Eve countdown! Lol!

The shelter thinks she is about one year old. She was picked up roaming the streets, so not sure how she ended up in that situation. She seemed very friendly and curious when we played with her yesterday. She actually came to me when I made some whistling noises, sort of like a dog would. She is a very interesting kitty!

You are taking her home the same day they spay her?  We are planning on getting a cat from shelter, she's scheduled for spay January 11, and they say they want to keep her a few days to make sure she's healing okay and everything. I guess shelters do things differently.  Our potential new kitty is a tortie - I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your Eve.

The shelter she is coming from is a high volume kill shelter. They have to move them quickly to make room for all the new intakes. I'm sure it will be very stressful for her, but we will work to make sure she has a quiet place to recover here.

Here she is! Not the best shot of her, she's still groggy from surgery. I'll post more when she is feeling better.

She is so pretty.  I am no good at the names for markings and colors so I can't help with that.

I wasn't sure if she would be classified as torbie, tortie or calico. She has white feet and a white chest and face, which isn't in the picture I got of her. She's very interesting!
