Me and my wife have 4 indoor only cats and 2 outdoor cats that adopted us as their mom and dad.
One of the outdoor cats who we named Oscar is basically the neighborhood tomcat. He is different than most male cats because he brings his young over to our house...does this "baby talk" to them. Well one of his kids he brought over sometime back in August has passed. We are guessing he was about 5-6 months old at the time of his death. This happened Friday and I couldnt believe how emotional we both got. He was an awesome hunter and a talker. He had brought over in the short time he was here, 5 mice and 5 birds as gifts to us.
Well this is how I found him.
I left for work Friday morning. We have a field behind our house and a major 5 lane road next to that. We little Oreo decided to wonder away and get hit by a car. Im guessing he was doing what he loved to do....chase mice/birds.
I didnt want to get out of my car and see him this way. I wanted to remember him for how he was. The little black and white cat who loved his dad Oscar...imitated everything he did. My wife wasnt aware of his passing till she got off work so Im guessing it happened between 7-8am. Animal road service had picked him up before I got home. As I told my wife when these cats adopted us is that things like this can happen. Im glad I know what happened to him because if I would have never seen this we would be worrying about him now and for several weeks to come and thinking to ourselves, "I wonder what happened to him"
We love you Oreo
