We adopted a pair of littermates last week and the male keeps trying to suckle the female. While the behavior in itself doesn't concern me (we had one that suckled eyelids, earlobes and even her own dewclaw) but he's rather aggressive about it and I'm worried about her spaying incision. Any advice? Or am I overreacting?

How long ago was she spayed? If it was a few weeks ago or longer, it is fine, she will let him know if it is annoying her and most kittens outgrow this. If the spay was more recent you should keep them separated until she is healed.

One thing you can do to protect the spay site is to cut the leg off of a sock and slip it over her body. The leg should be snug, but not tight. That's what I had to resort to with Hekitty, who can get out of any cone ever made. Worked like a charm, once I found the right sized sock.
