We have a 9 month old cat that as the title suggests pees on our bed, hats and any shirts that might be on the ground. The behavior started shortly before we moved from NY to FL, while in NY she would pee in the bathtub which we assumed she was doing because our old cat didn't mainly because the kitten would attack her whenever she used the litter box. Now we're staying with family in FL and have been here since Dec. When we first came down here she was using the litter box just fine, but if I forgot to empty it that day she would pee on the bed. I got into the habit of emptying the litter box everyday, but now she only uses the litter box if we catch her and put her in the litter box, and seems to wait to pee until right after we leave the room we're keeping then in.
I want to add we have to keep them in our bedroom, they're not allowed to roam our family's house, we do let her roam the house when we're the only ones home but she still pees outside the litter box after we put her back in the room(she doesn't pee anywhere in the house). We use Stink Free on the spots she pees, and she doesn't pee on the same spots of the bed.
I read UTIs have bloody pee, and her pee looks normal, but is VERY pungent, but she was fixed at 17 weeks so I don't think its spraying.
Also I don't know if this means anything but her refusal to use the litter box does correspond with us having higher stress about moving back to NY.
We also read she might have separation anxiety, she used to cry whenever we left her in the room alone, if she roaming the house she won't let us go to the bathroom without her, as soon as we come home she runs to us and purrs, if she's on our lap and we try to move her she gets violent and scratches or bites us hard, she insists on sleeping on us or next to us.
