Did she eat all the placentas? If so, she will be full for a day or so, but if she is still not eating get her vet checked.

If she’s running fever she may need an antibiotic for infection, and possibly an x-ray to see if she has retained a placenta or a deceased kitten.

Do keep us posted!

Hey,

Our kitty was born 9 days ago and was 84 grams. She is now 9 days old and is 71 grams. Our queen had a difficult birth and pyometra so she didn't produce much milk. Unfortunately we were unable to save 2 kittens 4 days after birth even with the help of vets and formula feeding. Our last fighter is holding up, looks healthy, suckling from the queen but not gaining weight, still maintaining the same weight. We've been to the vet twice now with the kitten, he injected her with formula and gave us glucose to take home. Our queen is doing well now, she seems to have healed but is still taking antibiotics. The vet didn't recommend we feed the kitten formula though. What should we do please?

You have to feed her! Get kitten formula and feed every two hours, with a dropper in the side of her mouth or a bottle. it only is common sense that if she isn't nursing she needs food! What is that vet thinking!? She needs to be kept warm too or she will not eat. constipation can be dealt with with a sliver of an infant suppository or something added to the KMR. Please google 'the kitten lady' she gives a lot of good tips. I will notify some kitten experts on here to help you. Sarthur2 Sarthur2 and StefanZ StefanZ

Agree with di and bob di and bob ! You will lose this kitten too if you do not begin syringe feeding formula.

She should weigh close to 340 grams by now. The fact she’s lost so much weight tells me she is not getting enough food to grow on.

Here is a helpful syringe feeding video:
Syringe Feeding — Kitten Lady

To avoid constipation, add 2-3 drops of olive oil to each feeding. The kitten and formula must be warm, and kitten needs feeding every 1-2 hours right now as she is so tiny.

Please keep us posted!

Do you think she has inhaled any formula into her lungs? Do you hear a clicking sound? How much formula has she consumed in those 8 hours?

If you suspect she may have aspirated formula into her lungs, get her to a vet right away for antibiotics — usually Clavamox. Otherwise, it can quickly turn into pneumonia and kill tiny kittens.

You got glucose with you. Have you much of it? Glucose is useful in many situation, especielly in some emergency situations.... BUT its difficult to find on the open market in USA.... What did the vet said it was for? What should you do with it??
Anyways, its good to know vet do have access to glucose proper... Most rescuers use white karo syrup instead...

IF you have problems with constipation, some drops of olive oil usually helps. Or a sliver of glycerine mentioned out... Another tip may be goats milk...
Its a useful alternative if kittens gets constipated from kmr...
Raw goats milk has potentially some extra healthy properties, but is pricey.... But also pasteurized goats milk is usually enough for feeding.

I hope the quicker breathing are no new problems.... Her margins are thin.
