Just wanted to update all of you on Simba's recovery. So we ended up taking Simba to a Specialist (Nov. 23rd Monday) to get a second opinion. The veterinarian looked over Simba's blood results as well as xray. It was a lot better new's then what the other vet said. The specialist did not think at all it was liver failure do to his blood results.
After the ultrasound and needle aspirate was obtained of the liver the vet came with a Cholangiohepa with secondary mild hepatic lipidosis. Possible gall bladder obstruction.
So Simba has been on Clavamox every 12 hours and actigall once a day hoping it will improve the issue with his gall bladder.
We took him back yesterday for a check up and it turns out that he is doing a lot better. The blood work they did came out with positive results and there is a lot of hope for Simba's full recovery. The Cholangiohepatitis is improving and now the gall bladder is only partially obstructed. We just have to make sure he is eating more. The veterinarian added mirtazipine to his medication which will give him the appetite so he can start eating on his own. We still need to continue to force feed him.
He is finally drinking and eating on his own and is slowly getting back to his normal silly self. I will keep all of you updated on his recovery. Thank you all for our love and support.
