Hello everyone,
Hope someone can give some insight.
Last week on the 22nd Feb - I noticed that my kitten (Penny) was limping. It wasn't bad and she was still walking on all 4s most of the time but hopping just every now and then.
I thought she had just bruised herself a little and would get better in a few days. I checked her paw and there was nothing there.
Now after a week it is progressively getting worse and she won't let her back right paw touch the floor. She sits/lies down OK and happily jumps around!!! She has never shown signs of any pain and when I try to touch/stretch/massage her leg and paw she does not show any sign of discontent.
She is 4 months old (born 2nd Nov 2012) and she is a white domestic kitten with blue eyes therefore she is deaf.
A few days ago my boyfriend saw she fell off her cat tree right from the very top (it is 1.8 metres high) right down to the floor when she was meowing and saying hello to him when he entered the room.
I have noticed she is a bit clumsy since I got her on the 10th Feb - so I suspect she has fallen from her cat tree before. Is this anything to do with her being deaf?
I have since shortened her cat tree to 1.2 metres and keeping a watchful eye on her when she is jumping around her cat tree.
I was going to take her to the vet on the 26th Feb but I had to cancel because my car broke down. And it doesn't look like my car will be fixed any time soon due to engine problem.
I am very puzzled as she does not cry or show pain. Still being happy as a kitten should be...
Please can anyone suggest anything? I am looking to take her to the vet tomorrow but will have to take a 40 minute bus journey and I am not sure if she will be OK taking a long ride in her carrier with strangers all around.
I am scared that it is something really bad like she fractured her leg?
Thank you
Regards,
Kim
