I adopted a 2 month old at the end of June. Gray domestic short hair, male, fixed.
He has gotten in the habit of biting and attacking my hands and feet.
I have tried everything I can think of to make him stop but it won't work.
Things I have tried:
1. Bought a big stuffed animal (about his size) so he can attack. It works but after I let go of it he losses his interest.
2. Blowing in his face when he bites me. (To annoy him but not hurt him. )
3. A water bottle. I hate this idea, but I tried it. He stops what he's doing only when I have the bottle in my hand. Once I put it down he continues to attack me.
4. Gently tap his nose and say "NO" in a firm voice, but he won't let go when I do that.
It is getting to the point where he is making me bleed. I bought kitty caps for his nails which will stop him from scratching me. But he loves to still hold on me to and bite.
I feel like he was taken from his mom way too early and now considers me his mother. Following me, meowing at me, grooming me. So I feel this is his way of "playing" with his mommy.
I'm hoping it is only a kitten thing and he will stop eventually. But I'm not sure.
Any advice would be great!
One of my many wounds he gave me..this was last night he reopened it during the night.
