So on Nov 4th our cat was stolen. Yes, we know he was stolen and we know this because this guy that lived in our complex mentioned to my H a few weeks prior to getting evicted that if our cat came up missing he would know where he was. Sure enough the same day the jerk moved out, Icarus was gone. He is microchipped so we knew if he was picked up we would get a call. Not to go into details, we tried frantically to get him back from the guy but to no avail.
Well, today we get a call that he was turned in by someone to the humane shelter. This very nice women saw him in her backyard and fed him. She knew he belonged to someone because he still has his collar (but his ID tag was removed) so she called the humane shelter and they asked if she could bring him in, which she did, even though she is allergic to cats. She said Icarus sat on her lap and purred for the whole drive.
So we picked him up and on the way there I made an appt. for him for the vets for tomorrow to get checked out. Unfortunatly when we got him there was something wrong with him leg so we took him to an emergency clinic and his poor little leg is fractured. I feel so bad, what Icarus must have gone through these past few months.
We bring him in tomorrow for the surgery. Right now he is home and happy. He has been lounging and eating, a lot. Which is great. When we had him he was almost 12 lbs; at the vet they weight him and he is 6.9 lbs. He is so skinny, I can hardly recongnize him. We have him in our room away from the other two cats, which are strangers.
Icarus has yet to meet Chip and Scotty, but will in a few days. Right now he is happy eating and laying down.
I will let you all know what happens tomorrow after him surgery.
I am so happy!!! Yaaaaayyyyy!!!!!!
