Hello everyone,
First off I could like to say that this kitten has been to a vet who said she appears to be healthy. He also isn't an expert on young kittens so he isn't sure what the discharge could mean other than a possible infection and since she is eating, pottying, and active he wants to opt out of antibiotics unless it becomes obvious that she needs them.
Story: a momma cat was giving birth when a dog chased her off. She has three kittens. Two were still in their sacs so a man removed them and left the babies for mom. She only ever came back for the one kitten whose sac she had removed. The other two were taken in and bottle fed. They were 2.5 ounces. They are now 2 weeks old and doing well as far as activity level and weight gain go. One is a boy and one is a girl. I am not caring for the kittens personally but am helping mentor a lady who contacted me for advice. The female kitten has had slight cloudy discharge the past couple of days. Not much but enough for it to be noticeable. I was wondering if anyone has seen this before and what it might be? They took a fecal sample to test and she is going to the vet for a follow up soon. I just thought I'd see if anyone on here has any insight! Thank you!
