Hello,
I was out with my parents, and young son for a short walk in the extensive woods that surrounds both of our houses. The road our houses are on is fairly long and deserted. We came out of the woods at a random spot and were talking when my father noticed a cat just in the tree line looking at us. We moved closer and it didn't run, we then noticed it was a small kitten. We picked it up and it was shivering, but active. We walked to my house and waited for my wife and older son to get home (about 5 minutes). My wife was very excited as we have been talking about getting a cat. As we were talking we realized how odd it was for such a young kitten to be out here and started to wonder if someone dropped it off and drove away....are there more? So we went back out and found the second kitten not far from where the first was found. We looked for more, but didn't find any as it was pretty dark by this time. We plan on looking again tomorrow but for now both of the kittens seem to be in good spirits.

We plan on taking them to the vet tomorrow to get a basic checkup and find out what we may need to do to ensure they are healthy. My big question is what kinda costs might we expect for these two in the short term. We've got some "all aged" cat food (all the local store had) and they are eating well. My mother had an old liter box and we bought some generic cat liter for them tonight. What kind of food should we be feeding these two? They seem rather skinny, but are quite active and playful. I think they will be a great addition to the family, and just want to be sure I'm not missing anything. Also...if anyone might now what type of cats these are, that would be helpful.
I will be reading more of this site, but I wanted to post as it is late here. Thanx all!
