He begs for food,he's on fluid therapy(subq) for kidney issues and he's old so he is not very active anyway, hopefully i'll get a urine sample as you suggested or the vet can get one next time. the kitten may have even injured him she's always batting at his hind end when he is passing by or going up the steps.could the kidneys not functioning normally cause a stone or crystals that irritated him causing him to bite and lick to dislodge them? a client at the vet's office told me their cat had cancer that spread and affected the brain and the cat began compulsive self mutilating behaviors.
