I'm very sorry about this for Niko. You really have done much for her and she's had a loving home. It is never easy to let them go but sometimes there is nothing more to be done other than that.

So I found out that we have been giving her Slippery Elm, it is one of the ingredients in the Vitality Science we have been giving her.  We took her to another specialist and we may be too late.  They did tests on her today (she is still there) and she may be in early stages of cancer.  They won't know for sure without a biopsy, which I don't really want to put her through again.  She has lost another two pounds over the last few weeks.

We have tried everything we can think of to help her for well over two years now.  I think we may be at the end of this road.  She's almost 13 years old, and has had a wonderful life with me and my wife and her brother, Shadow.  It's just hard for me to let go, but it's not fair to keep her if she is in pain just to make myself feel better.  Thank you all for your suggestions and support.

Enough options have been exhausted that I'm not putting her or me through this anymore.  It's been almost three years.  A vet and a specialist have now told me that we are looking at some form of cancer.  Niko is miserable and I need to let her go.
I just read this latest post from you.  so sorry .... I had to make this decision a long time ago..I know how you are feeling--as do many people here....please keep in touch...

You are a very special cat guardian/parent....You love her...always have and always will. Niko will always be with you. Her love love for you will continue until the end of time. You did as much as you were physically and emotionally able to do..no one will ever say otherwise..

Please know that we are thinking very strongly for you...
