This is just the wierdest thing. Our 12 year old Siamese female, Mei Mei, has suddenly begun 'craving' the oddest kind of attention of my husband. She's always been an indoor cat. She's been spayed since she was 6 months old. She's classic Siamese - never liked anyone but me, attitude out the ying-yang, yet when I met my husband, she fell for him too and she adores him. (When I dated, she showed her displeasure with EVERY guy I dated by pooping in the fluffy white bathroom rug when they arrived.) She's truly NOT aloof, but in true Siamese fashion, she still pretends to have that 'aloof' attitude. She has certain times of day she 'expects him' to sit with her and let her lie down by him and 'talk to him'. She has 'rules' for everyone in the house. I work at home so she gets to see me all day so she takes it for granted I'm around. He works outside the home, so.....when he hits the door, she has 'plans' for him.
In the past maybe 4 weeks, she's started this new wierdness...it's like she wants him to 'rough house' with her. He pats her butt, wrestles with her 'lightly', roughs up her face and neck...she gets all 'nippy' and pretends to be angry and bite him, which she doesn't really do...lots of Riaow, Riaow noises. When he stops, she keeps coming back for more...even kinda putting her ass in the air a tiny bit.
Other than that, she's her normal self - 'runs' the household, 'in charge of security' (i.e. attacking thru the glass, any outdoor cat who comes near the door) and she's the 'boss' of the other indoor cat, a 10 yr old black shorthair female named Maggie. Mei is definitely the 'alpha' of the bunch.
Mei seems incredibly healthy. She has always run and played like a kitten and still does. She eats the best catfood I can buy and drinks lots of water. They only get filtered water and then, it goes thru a filtered kitty 'fountain'. She's awfully picky 'bout the litter box, where the other cat could care less. Her coat is gorgeous, eyes bright, and no 'old age' grey in her brown at all. Her weight is perfect (while Maggie is a bit of a basketball on legs).
So....wondering if anyone has any ideas on this???
Thanks a bunch and sorry for the length of my first post here on the board.
