My 11 year old indoor only cat started having issues with vomiting frequently in May. I took her to our regular vet and they said she needed a few teeth removed. That was done in July but the vomiting continued. They prescribed antacid which she only took for a few weeks (it was difficult to give her pills) and different food which she wouldn’t eat. In early August she vomited blood multiple times on a Friday night and I took her to an emergency vet. They did ultrasounds and found nothing. She was ok for a few weeks until the vomiting began again this week and is worse now. Neither vet has given me any answers and I have spent thousands of dollars (not the point but frustrating). She also tends to cry all night when this happens and wakes me up. I live in a small two bedroom apartment so limited options to keeping her quiet. Any suggestions? I know cat vomiting is sometimes normal but I feel terrible for her and I need to sleep.

Vomiting can be a sign of heart disease. Have a ProBNP test done to test the protein released by the heart. It can identify beginnings of heart disease and isnt crazy expensive. I lost two cats to heart failure so I test all of mine now. What kind of food is he on, is he on sensitive systems? I had to use that for a cat that always vomited. Also bad teeth is a sign of heart disease as well.

It could be IBD or other gastrointestinal issue. Can you get another opinion from a new vet? Maybe an internal medicine specialist vet.

What are you feeding? There could be an intolerance to something in the food such as the protein or a filler.
