They'll make you get rabies shots then.
I've been through this many a time.
They are supposed to call the Health department, and they send someone out to check the cat, and make sure it is in a quarentine away from other animals. A bedroom or bathroom would work.
Then after 10 days, they come out and check the cat again, if the cat looks healthy, then they release the cat. I have never seen what happens when the cat isn't healthy, and I don't think I want to.
At the cat rescue, we get a fair amount of cat bites.. from ferals or just cats that are scared about coming into a new place with a bunch of other kitties. I've been bitten a few times.. but only really bad once.
It was bleeding so bad I thought I was going to need stitches.. I went to the ER right away.. and they put me on antibiotics to prevent infection, as you know how dirty cats mouths are. The Dr was also very worried about nerve damage in my fingers.
And sure enough. my ring ringer on my right hand doesn't bend all the way anymore.
Hope it feels better soon, and that Dori will be okay!
