You know... its kind of funny but I don't necessarily like the smell but don't dislike it. It has a very comforting home feel to me. I guess where I am in NC I don't ever smell skunk,, so when I go home to NH and I smell skunk, I really feel at home!

Is that because of what you did in HS when you skipped school with boys from the wrong side of the tracks???

My husband says the same thing about skunk:

Him: "mmmm you smell that???"

Me: "ewwww that's disgusting! a dead skunk!"

Him: "no, it reminds me of behind the bleachers in hs"

Ahem. I plead the 5th.
This is a family forum.
By the way, I dropped out of HS at age 13, and was in college at age 16, so I'm not your average cat owner, LOL! And as a Harley owner, I have to say that I STILL like the bad boys from the wrong side of the tracks!

My mother craved the smell of gas fumes when she was pregnant with me. I guess that could explain a lot of things about me.

I like the smell of diesel fumes - reminds me of bus trips when I was younger.

Pink erasers - when I smell them, I am instantly transported back to grade school.

The salmon treats I buy our cats. Smell wonderful, taste yucky!!!! How do I know? I ain't tellin'...

I love the smell of fresh coffee grounds, before they're brewed. I'm not much of a coffee fan, although I can drink Starbucks Mocha Latte's, and enjoy them.

My favourite smell in the world is diesel fuel. I LOVE it. The city buses used to have diesel fuel, but now they're not using it in them. I use inhale the deisel fumes deeply, and could not get enough.

That is absolutely hilarious

I guess I have the opposite. I hate the smell of chittelrings or greens while they cook, but they are so good to actually eat.

well, i think coffee & popcorn both taste way better than they smell, but i don't hate either of them - i'm just always disappointed!
edited to add: i also like the smell of gas fumes, diesal fumes, airplane glue, etc - but i wouldn't want to eat them

eta: forgot - anyone else old enough to remember mimeographed papers at school - those purple worksheets? LOVED the smell of them when they were straight from the copier!

OMG! Lady bugs stink soooo bad. We had a lady bug infestation at our dorm, with anywhere from 50+ in the room at any one time. They were dying everywhere and dive bombed us at night. Our light fixture was getting dimmer and dimmer until we realized the lady bugs were dying in it, clouding the cover. I would go to class just to find lady bugs crawling on my bag and crushed lady bugs in my notebook. Yah so I can't stand the smell of ladybugs. Yuck! They stink especially dead ones.
