I've recently gotten into drinking tea, including herbal, black and green.

So I'm wondering, what are good brands of tea that I should be trying? What brands are considered good? I'm thinking of internet ordering some Twinings.

Bags are convenient for work, but for home, loose tea seems much more economical. I got some jasmine green tea at an Asain grocery store for about $3 that's enough to make I don't know how many cups of tea. 20 bags of grocery store bag tea costs about that much. You can get loose green tea at the Asian store, but I don't know where to get other kinds of loose tea. Well, there are some on the internet, very reasonably priced that I'll probably get.

The jasmine green tea....is that in a yellow metal square canister? If so it is manufactured by the Fuijan government in China. That is really good for the price.

Don't ever drink any tea containing flowers in the form of tea bags. Once it is made into tea bags the aromatic oils tend to dissipate before the bags are used. It greatly cuts into the time of the preservation.

I think so....
You can, but there are some types that you can only get online. It's a better selection that Borders.

Aveda tea. Yes. Aveda, the hair product people. They serve it in their salons, and you can buy it loose. It is the BEST tea I have ever had. It has a couple different flavors that play around in your mouth. Mmmmm. now I want some.

Too bad I live in the middle of NOWHERE and can't get any!!!

I second theCelestial Seasonings recommendation.
I slso drink a lot of Traditionl Medicinal teas. They have a big range of teas, and they're organic.
We have a wonderful tea shop up the road and I've gotten into drinking the loose leaf teas. Like shengmei said, it's fresher and better loose.

Does it really, cause that's what I got going on right now is a start of a migraine (computer not the best idea I'm sure). And Midrin did nothing for me but knock me out and Imitrex gave me the skin crawlies. It's hard to describe, just the willies I suppose and like shocks down my jaw when I'd eat or drink anything.

So I'm stuck with tons of motrin.

This may sound weird but have you tried drinking a lot of caffeine? It can constrict the blood flow to a few different types of migraines. For other types however it can make it worse, so I give that advice with caution.

That sounds exactly like the tin i bought. It's really yummy and I love the way the leaves unfold when it steeps. My boss has some other good Chinese tea here at work that she's kindly sharing with me. I couldn't tell you what it is, though, because there isn't a speck of English anywhere on the container

I love Celestial Seasonings, too, but AFAIK, they only make bags, and I think I'll buy loose because from what I understand it's usually better tea, and it's really much cheaper overall, even if I have to order on the internet and pay shipping. Also you can adjust how much tea you to use to get the taste you like.

Have not had Republic of Tea, but will try. Twinings has a good reputation, so I'll probably order some online once I get low on what I've already got. I'll probably just have a big tasting adventure and try lots of stuff. Also want to try rooibos (spelling?) the red tea stuff.

Hey, don't feel bad about hijacking this thread. I have migraines too and I'm always excited to find kindred spirits (not that want other people to have them, I just enjoy meeting and talking to people that know what I'm going through.) Imitrex worked for me, but would make me really sick for about 15 minutes before it made me better, so no good if I didn't want to leave work. Maxalt took like an hour and a half to work. Midrin works wonders for me, especially if I chase it with some caffeine. If I'm at work, I'll often take Midrin and a Red Bull. I know Red Bull isn't really good for me, but I only take it when I'm sick. The real stuff works better for me than the sugar-free. Usually, with this approach, I can get better without laying down. I try not to leave work unless I really have to. Sometimes I still have to lay down, but an hour or hour and a half nap will always fix me right up. Actually, the other day when I had a headache I drank a cup of green tea and that made me feel a lot better but the headache was still there a little, so I took a dose of Midrin and was right as rain in half an hour without laying down. Another thing that helps me is those cloth packs filled with seeds or beans or something that you can use cold or hot. I found that hot helps me.

Keep talking to your doctor until you find something that works for you! My doctor is wonderfully understanding about my headaches!

I'm thinking of ordering from englishteastore.com. They seem reasonable, and I like that they display their shipping price prominently. I think I'll try some of their own brand of tea, too, as it's quite economical.

Anybody have any experiene with them?

I love tea. Twinings is my brand of choice and my favourite of their teas is Twinings Assam. They sell it both as loose tea and in tea bags. It's a wonderful rich tea with a strong colour. My absolute favourite

So I was thinking tonight....I really like Celestial Seasonings teas. All of them I have tasted, I have really liked. Perhaps I should just drink what I like, and not worry about what the tea experts say. Of course, I'll try some other stuff, too, for fun. Just had a cup of CS chamomille, yum!

Almost forgot to add, I bought a tin of Republic of Tea Ginger Peach loose leaf. Haven't tried it yet.

I much perfer the tea from the asain stores over the tea bags.
i just got some of the cups there that you put the tea leaves in and pour the hot water on , put the lid on the cup and let it sit. i swear it seems to have a much better and more richer taste then the tea bags do.
